UPS + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with UPS. A manager compares UPS services and prices on the deal, creates the shipment with a label and a tracking number, and Krokul follows the package through UPS Track Alert events until it is delivered. Exceptions and delivery reach the deal feed without anyone checking the UPS site.

  • Via API and webhooksYou connect it with the Krokul app in an automation platform, the public API and signed webhooks. The page lists the steps for this service.

What your team gets

Pick a service with the price in front of you

Before shipping, Krokul calls the UPS Rating API with the request option Shoptimeintransit. UPS answers with every available service from the ship-from to the ship-to address, with the rate and transit time for each. The manager picks one on the deal and can add the cost as a line on the invoice.

Label and tracking number from the deal

Krokul sends the recipient from the deal contact, the client company address and the package weight to the UPS Shipping API. UPS returns the shipment identification number, a tracking number for each package and the label image. The label opens for printing from the shipment on the deal, and the tracking number lands in the deal feed.

Delivery status without polling

Right after the label is created, Krokul subscribes the tracking number through UPS Track Alert. UPS then posts a TrackingEvent to Krokul for each scan. The activityStatus type I marks the package as on the way, and type D with actualDeliveryDate closes the shipment as delivered.

Exceptions turn into tasks

An activityStatus of type X tells Krokul that UPS logged a package exception. Krokul creates a task for the deal owner with the status description and location from the event. A U event with a new scheduledDeliveryDate updates the expected date on the shipment so the client gets a correct answer.

Cancel a shipment that should not go

If the order changes before pickup, the manager cancels the shipment from the deal. Krokul calls the UPS void endpoint with the shipment identification number and marks the shipment as cancelled.

Yes. Krokul compares UPS rates, creates shipments with labels and tracking numbers from a deal, and updates the delivery status from UPS Track Alert events.

How does Krokul learn that a UPS package was delivered?

Through a UPS Track Alert webhook. UPS posts a TrackingEvent with activityStatus type D and actualDeliveryDate, and Krokul marks the shipment on the deal as delivered.

Can a manager see UPS prices before creating a label?

Yes. The UPS Rating API with the Shop or Shoptimeintransit option returns rates for all UPS services between the two addresses, with transit times for the second option.

Which UPS credentials does Krokul need?

A Client ID and Client Secret from an app on the UPS developer portal, plus your 6-digit UPS account number for billing the shipment.

Limits

Pickups, billing and claims stay in your UPS account. UPS Track Alert accepts up to 100 tracking numbers per subscription request, and UPS documents only the en_US locale for it.
