# Prices by the client’s terms, not from a rep’s memory

Tier prices, quantity breaks, time-limited discount rules, a role discount cap: Krokul calculates the price and shows how it got there. Reps don’t remember prices; they see them.

**In short.** Krokul is a B2B CRM with built-in pricing: multiple price lists and client tiers, quantity breaks (a lower price from 10 units, lower still from 100), discount rules with a validity period, and a discount cap by the rep’s role. The price in a quote or order is calculated from the client company’s terms, with an explanation next to it of which price list and rule it came from; line item cost and margin are hidden from roles that aren’t allowed to see them.

**Who it’s for:** B2B distribution with dealer tiers; manufacturers with volume pricing; companies where reps give discounts and the owner tracks margin.

**Plan:** Available from the Money plan, $149/month, 1,000 transactions included

## What it looks like without Krokul

1. The price list lives in Excel in three versions. A rep takes the price from whichever one is open and knocks off another ten percent off the top of their head for a “good client”.
2. A tier-two dealer has been getting tier-one prices for years because of a verbal agreement long ago. The owner finds out from the annual margin report.
3. The “until the end of the month” promo ended two weeks ago, and quotes still go out at the promo price.

## What Krokul does

### Price lists and client tiers

Multiple price lists: retail, dealer, distributor, project price. A client company has a tier and terms, and its price comes from the matching price list without the rep getting involved.

### Quantity breaks

One price from 1 unit, another from 10, a third from 100. Breaks are set in the price list, and the quote or order applies them automatically based on the line quantity.

### Time-limited discount rules

A discount on a category, a client or a period: the rule runs from one date to another and turns itself off. A promo doesn’t outlive its plan.

### Discount cap by role

A rep can give up to 5%, a manager up to 15%, anything above that only with approval. Krokul won’t let a discount through above the role’s cap; line item cost and margin are hidden from those not allowed to see them.

## How it works

1. **You set up price lists and terms** Price lists with prices and quantity breaks; discount rules with a validity period; in the client company card: tier, currency, payment terms, credit limit.
2. **The rep adds a line item, and the price is already there** In a quote or order, the price is filled in from the client’s terms and the quantity. Next to it is the explanation: “Dealer” price list, “from 10” break, “Fall −5%” rule.
3. **Discounts within the role’s limit** A rep can change the price only within their cap. Anything above it won’t be saved until a role with higher authority approves it.
4. **Margin visible to those who need it** Line item cost and margin are visible to the owner and managers; reps don’t see them, and this is enforced by the server, not the interface.

## Result

- The price in a quote matches the client’s terms, because the system built it, not someone’s memory.
- Discounts beyond what’s allowed don’t go through, and margin doesn’t leak unnoticed.
- A promo ends when it’s meant to, on its own.

## What’s not included

Krokul isn’t a dynamic pricing system with market or competitor analysis: you set the prices and rules. Cost comes from goods receipts and the catalog, not from accounting.

## Questions

### How many price lists can I have?

Unlimited. Typically three to five: base, two or three partner tiers and a project price list.

### Can I give one client a special price on one product?

Yes, with a discount rule for that client company and product, with or without an end date. The price explanation will show exactly that rule.

### What does a dealer see in their portal?

Prices for their tier with the same quantity breaks; other price lists aren’t available to them.

### How is this different from a “discount” field in a typical CRM?

In a typical CRM the rep types in the price, and the discount is an arbitrary percentage. In Krokul the price is derived from the price list, tier, quantity and rules, and the discount is capped by role, so margin is controlled at the moment of sale, not in a report a quarter later.

### How much does it cost?

Price lists, tiers, quantity breaks and discount rules are included in the Money plan, $149/month. Line item cost and margin come with the Margin plan.

## Upload a price list and give clients tiers

Import a price list from a spreadsheet, set two tiers and one discount rule, and build your first quote where the price explains itself.

Included in the Money plan.
