# WhatsApp Business + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with WhatsApp Business through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n or Albato and through the Krokul API and webhooks. A message to your business number becomes a contact, a deal and a thread in the Communications section, and the manager answers from Krokul into the same WhatsApp chat, with approved templates when the chat window is closed.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make, n8n, Albato.

## What your team gets

### A first WhatsApp message opens a deal

When a customer writes to your number, Meta sends a webhook with the field `messages`. Krokul finds the contact by the sender phone or creates one, opens a deal in the pipeline you chose and starts a thread. A second message from the same phone goes to the same thread and the same open deal.

### The manager answers inside the deal

The manager reads the chat in Communications next to quotes, payments and tasks, and types a reply. Krokul sends it through the Cloud API to the same WhatsApp chat. Photos and documents travel both ways and are kept with the deal as files.

### Templates reopen a closed conversation

Once 24 hours pass after the last customer message, Meta allows only approved message templates. Krokul lists the approved templates of your WhatsApp Business Account and offers them in the reply box. Their fields, such as customer name, deal number and amount, come filled from the deal.

### Delivery status stays on the message

Meta reports each sent message as sent, delivered, read or failed. Krokul shows that status next to it in the thread. A failed message keeps its error text, so the manager knows the reason and does not assume the customer got it.

### A stage change notifies the customer

An automation rule in Krokul sends a template when a deal reaches a stage such as "Order shipped". The message appears in the thread like any manual reply, so the whole conversation stays in one place.

## What moves between WhatsApp Business and Krokul

| WhatsApp Business | Krokul | Direction | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Incoming message (webhook field `messages`) | Contact, deal and thread message | WhatsApp → Krokul | Each customer message |
| Media in a message (image, document, audio) | File attached to the deal | WhatsApp ↔ Krokul | When either side sends a file |
| Reply within the customer service window | Message typed in the Krokul thread | Krokul → WhatsApp | When the manager sends it |
| Approved message template | Template reply or automation rule | Krokul → WhatsApp | Outside the 24-hour window or on a stage change |
| Message status (sent, delivered, read, failed) | Status of the message in the thread | WhatsApp → Krokul | As Meta reports it |
| Template status (`message_template_status_update`) | List of templates available in Krokul | WhatsApp → Krokul | When Meta approves or rejects a template |

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n or Albato

1. Connect the Krokul app with an API key.
2. Start from the WhatsApp Business trigger New Message Received and use Krokul actions such as Create Contact, Create Deal or Add Activity.
3. In the other direction, take a Krokul trigger such as Deal Won and run Send Template Message.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Give your receiver a Krokul API key scoped to contacts, deals and activities.
2. Subscribe the Cloud API webhook to the field `messages`, verify X-Hub-Signature-256, then match the sender phone with contact/api-find or add the person with contact/api-create and open a deal with card/api-create.
3. Write every incoming message to the deal feed with activity/api-create, and keep the WhatsApp ID on the contact via externalRef/api-upsert.
4. For outgoing templates, subscribe a Krokul webhook to card.statusChanged, check `x-crm-signature`, and call the Cloud API messages endpoint.

**Triggers:** New Message Received; Message Status Updated.

**Actions:** Send Freeform Message; Send Template Message; Send Media Message.

### For integrators

For custom flows Krokul offers a public REST API, signed webhooks with a delivery log and external keys that link a contact to its WhatsApp ID. Activities accept the same types as the app, including `message`, so a custom receiver can write chats into the deal feed. A sandbox company with demo data and an API key helps to test a flow before it reaches real customers.

## Questions and answers

### Does Krokul integrate with WhatsApp Business?

Yes. Krokul integrates with WhatsApp Business through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n and Albato, and through its API and webhooks. Chats become contacts, deals and threads, and replies go back to WhatsApp from the deal.

### What does Meta require before the number works?

A Meta business portfolio, a WhatsApp Business Account and a phone number registered for the Cloud API. Templates must have the status APPROVED before they can be sent, and each template belongs to the marketing, utility or authentication category.

### How many customers can we write to first?

Meta limits how many unique numbers a business portfolio can message outside a customer service window in 24 hours. New portfolios start at 250. Business verification is one of the paths to 2,000, and higher levels follow from message quality.

### Will each message create a new deal?

No. Krokul keeps one thread per customer and adds new messages to the open deal of that contact. A new deal starts only when the earlier one is closed.

## Limits

Krokul works with numbers on the WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API); the WhatsApp Business app on a single phone stays outside. Meta sets the rules for templates, the 24-hour customer service window and messaging limits, and Krokul follows them.
