# UPS + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with UPS. A manager compares UPS services and prices on the deal, creates the shipment with a label and a tracking number, and Krokul follows the package through UPS Track Alert events until it is delivered. Exceptions and delivery reach the deal feed without anyone checking the UPS site.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** n8n.

## What your team gets

### Pick a service with the price in front of you

Before shipping, Krokul calls the UPS Rating API with the request option Shoptimeintransit. UPS answers with every available service from the ship-from to the ship-to address, with the rate and transit time for each. The manager picks one on the deal and can add the cost as a line on the invoice.

### Label and tracking number from the deal

Krokul sends the recipient from the deal contact, the client company address and the package weight to the UPS Shipping API. UPS returns the shipment identification number, a tracking number for each package and the label image. The label opens for printing from the shipment on the deal, and the tracking number lands in the deal feed.

### Delivery status without polling

Right after the label is created, Krokul subscribes the tracking number through UPS Track Alert. UPS then posts a TrackingEvent to Krokul for each scan. The activityStatus type I marks the package as on the way, and type D with actualDeliveryDate closes the shipment as delivered.

### Exceptions turn into tasks

An activityStatus of type X tells Krokul that UPS logged a package exception. Krokul creates a task for the deal owner with the status description and location from the event. A U event with a new scheduledDeliveryDate updates the expected date on the shipment so the client gets a correct answer.

### Cancel a shipment that should not go

If the order changes before pickup, the manager cancels the shipment from the deal. Krokul calls the UPS void endpoint with the shipment identification number and marks the shipment as cancelled.

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in n8n

1. Install the verified UPS node in n8n and connect it with your UPS Client ID and Client Secret. Connect the Krokul app with a Krokul API key.
2. Start from the Krokul trigger Deal Stage Changed, filtered on your shipping stage.
3. Use the UPS node operations Validate and Get Rates for the address and price, then Create to make the shipment.
4. Write the tracking number back to the deal with the Krokul action Add Activity, and run Track on a schedule for open shipments.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Issue a Krokul API key with scopes for deals, contacts, activities and tasks. Create a UPS app on the developer portal and get an OAuth token with client credentials.
2. Subscribe a Krokul webhook to card.statusChanged with a statusUuid filter for your shipping stage and verify x-crm-signature.
3. Call the UPS Shipping API, save the shipment identification number on the deal with externalRef/api-set and log the tracking number with activity/api-create.
4. Subscribe the tracking number in UPS Track Alert and, on each TrackingEvent, update the deal or open a task with task/api-create.

**Actions:** Validate; Get Rates; Create; Track.

### For integrators

UPS publishes OpenAPI files for Shipping, Rating, Tracking, Track Alert, Address Validation and Paperless Documents on GitHub, with a separate Customer Integration Environment for tests. Access uses OAuth, either client credentials for your own account or an authorization code flow for a shipper who connects an account to your app. On the Krokul side, the UPS shipment number is kept as an externalRef on the deal, and signed Krokul webhooks carry the stage change that starts the shipment.
