# Tableau + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with Tableau. Krokul publishes its deals, payments, documents and ready reports to your Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server site as Hyper data sources and keeps them current on a schedule. Analysts open them in Tableau like any other published data source, and a failed refresh reported by Tableau turns into a task in Krokul.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make, n8n.

## What your team gets

### Sales data as published data sources

You connect Krokul to a Tableau site with a personal access token and pick a project. Krokul builds a Hyper extract for deals, client companies, payments and documents, with the deal ID as the join key, and publishes it as one data source. Workbooks built on it show signed amounts against money received by manager, pipeline and month.

### Krokul reports land as ready tables

Stage conversion, time on stage, DSO and the ABC and XYZ segments come from the Krokul report engine already calculated. Krokul writes each of them into its own table of the Hyper file. A Tableau dashboard of these tables shows the same figures the Krokul dashboard does.

### Nightly replace, hourly append

Once a night Krokul replaces the data in the published data source with a full extract. During the day it appends new payments and closed deals in small Hyper files, so dashboards stay close to what sales sees. Files over the single request limit go up in chunks.

### A failed refresh reaches the right person

Tableau sends a DatasourceRefreshFailed or WorkbookRefreshFailed webhook when an extract refresh breaks. Krokul creates a task for the person who owns reporting, with the resource name from the payload. The task closes when DatasourceRefreshSucceeded arrives for the same data source.

## What moves between Tableau and Krokul

| Tableau | Krokul | Direction | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published data source (.hyper) in a project | Deals, client companies, contacts, payments, documents | Krokul → Tableau | Nightly full replace |
| Extra tables in the same Hyper file | report/api-conversion, report/api-stageDuration, report/api-dso, report/api-segments | Krokul → Tableau | With each publish |
| Append to the published data source | New payments and won or lost deals | Krokul → Tableau | On the intraday schedule |
| Personal access token sign-in | Krokul connection to the Tableau site | Krokul → Tableau | Before each publish |
| Webhook DatasourceRefreshFailed, WorkbookRefreshFailed | Task for the reporting owner | Tableau → Krokul | An extract refresh fails |
| Webhook DatasourceRefreshSucceeded | The same task closed | Tableau → Krokul | The next refresh succeeds |

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier, Make or n8n

1. Connect the Krokul app with a Krokul API key.
2. Start from the Tableau trigger Datasource Refresh Event or Workbook Refresh Event on Zapier, or Watch Data Source Refresh Failed on Make, and finish with the Krokul action Create Task.
3. Pair the Krokul trigger Invoice Paid with the Tableau action Run Extract Refresh Task when a dashboard reads an extract you refresh from your own warehouse.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Create a Krokul API key with read scope for deals, client companies, payments and reports.
2. Read the objects with card/api-readList, payment/api-readList and document/api-readList page by page, and the reports with report/api-run, honouring Retry-After on 429.
3. Write the rows to a .hyper file with the Hyper API in Python, Java or C++.
4. Sign in to the Tableau REST API with a personal access token and publish the file to your project with Publish Data Source, using overwrite for the first run and append or replace afterwards.

**Triggers:** Datasource Refresh Event; Workbook Refresh Event; Datasource Event; New Job; Watch Data Source Refresh Failed.

**Actions:** Run Extract Refresh Task; Create Workbook Refresh; Download View; Find Workbook; Find View.

### For integrators

The Tableau REST API takes up to 64 MB in one publish request and larger files through a file upload session. Overwrite, append and replace exclude each other. Append needs matching schemas and does not work on extracts stored with the multiple tables option. A personal access token sign-in returns a credentials token for the X-Tableau-Auth header, valid for 240 minutes by default. Tableau retries a failed webhook delivery three times and can send duplicates, so the Krokul receiver drops repeats by resource and time.

## Questions and answers

### Does Krokul integrate with Tableau?

Yes. Krokul publishes its sales data and reports to Tableau Cloud or Tableau Server as Hyper data sources, and Tableau refresh events come back as tasks. The Krokul app in Zapier, Make and n8n covers flows of your own.

### Do I need Tableau Desktop to use the data?

No. The data sources live on your Tableau site, so web authoring and Tableau Desktop both connect to them as published data sources.

### Can Tableau write back to Krokul?

No. Tableau reads what Krokul publishes. Changes to deals and payments happen in Krokul, and they reach Tableau with the next publish.

### Which Krokul reports can I see in Tableau?

Stage conversion, time on stage, DSO, ABC and XYZ segments, and any custom report built in the Krokul report engine.

## Limits

The link carries data one way, from Krokul to Tableau. Workbooks, calculations, permissions and sharing of dashboards stay in Tableau, and the published data sources hold what the Krokul key behind the connection is allowed to read.
