# Mailchimp + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with Mailchimp. Krokul contacts are kept as members of the Mailchimp audience you choose, won deals and client segments become Mailchimp tags, and unsubscribes, cleaned addresses and e-mail changes come back to the Krokul contact through audience webhooks. It works through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n and Albato, or through the Krokul API and webhooks.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make, n8n, Albato.

## What your team gets

### New contacts join the audience

When a contact is created in Krokul, the connector adds or updates the matching member of the Mailchimp audience with the e-mail and name. Mailchimp updates a member that already exists, so a contact saved twice stays one subscriber. The member status follows the setting you chose in the Mailchimp card.

### A won deal tags the customer

On a won deal, Krokul adds the tag you picked, such as Customer, to the member of the deal contact. A Mailchimp journey that starts on that tag sends onboarding e-mails, while the deal itself stays in Krokul.

### Segments follow the client company

Krokul tags and segments of the client company, for example a region or a product line, go to Mailchimp as tags of its contacts. A marketer builds a Mailchimp segment from them without exporting a file.

### Unsubscribes and cleaned addresses reach the contact

The connector registers an audience webhook for `unsubscribe`, `cleaned` and `upemail`. An unsubscribe puts a mark on the Krokul contact, a cleaned address after a hard bounce creates a task to check the e-mail, and a changed address appears as a comment with the new value.

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n or Albato

1. Link the Krokul app to your Krokul company with an API key.
2. Use Krokul triggers such as Contact Created or Deal Won with the Mailchimp actions Add/Update Subscriber or Add Subscriber to Tag.
3. For campaign activity, start from the Mailchimp triggers Email Opened or Link Clicked and add a comment to the Krokul contact.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Create a Krokul API key that reads contacts and deals and writes activities and tasks.
2. Subscribe a Krokul webhook to contact.created and card.won. Check x-crm-signature, then add or update the audience member and its tag through the Mailchimp Marketing API.
3. Add a Mailchimp audience webhook for unsubscribe, cleaned and upemail that posts to your receiver.
4. For each Mailchimp event, find the person with contact/api-find and record it with activity/api-create, or open a check with task/api-create for a cleaned address.

**Triggers:** New Subscriber; New Unsubscriber; New or Updated Subscriber; New Subscriber in Segment or Tag; Email Opened; Link Clicked.

**Actions:** Add/Update Subscriber; Add Subscriber to Tag; Remove Subscriber from Tag; Add Note to Subscriber; Unsubscribe or Delete Contact; Find a Subscriber.

### For integrators

Mailchimp posts audience webhooks as `application/x-www-form-urlencoded` data and expects an answer within 10 seconds. The `sources` setting (`user`, `admin`, `api`) lets the connector skip events caused by its own API calls, which keeps Krokul and Mailchimp from echoing changes back and forth. On the Krokul side, `x-crm-delivery` on every webhook lets any custom flow ignore repeated deliveries.
