# Facebook Messenger + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with Facebook Messenger through your Facebook Page. A message to the Page becomes a contact, a deal and a thread in the Communications section, and the manager answers from Krokul, so the reply arrives in the same Messenger conversation. The link runs through the Krokul app in Zapier or Make, or through the Krokul API and webhooks.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make.

## What your team gets

### A Page conversation starts a deal

A person writes to your Page, and Meta sends a webhook with the field `messages`. Krokul reads the page-scoped ID of the sender, takes the name from the Messenger profile, creates the contact and opens a deal in the pipeline you set for Messenger. Later messages from that person join the same thread.

### One thread per person, answered from the deal

The Messenger chat sits in Communications and on the deal card, next to quotes and tasks. When the manager types a reply, Krokul sends it through the Send API from the Page. Images and files from the person are saved with the deal.

### The reply window is visible to the team

Each Messenger thread shows how much of the 24-hour window is left. When the window has passed, Krokul offers a human reply with the HUMAN_AGENT tag while the 7 days last, and after that tells the manager that Messenger no longer accepts a message in this conversation.

### Contact details join the person across channels

A Messenger message carries no phone or email. When the person shares a phone number in the chat, the manager adds it to the contact, and later calls, WhatsApp chats and emails from that number land on the same person.

## What moves between Facebook Messenger and Krokul

| Facebook Messenger | Krokul | Direction | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Message to the Page (webhook field `messages`) | Contact, deal and thread message | Messenger → Krokul | Each message from a person |
| Page-scoped ID and profile name | Contact with an external key | Messenger → Krokul | First message of a person |
| Send API message from the Page | Reply typed in the Krokul thread | Krokul → Messenger | When the manager sends it within the allowed window |
| Attachment (image, file) | File on the deal | Messenger ↔ Krokul | When either side sends one |
| Delivery and read receipts (`message_deliveries`, `message_reads`) | Status of sent messages | Messenger → Krokul | As Meta reports them |

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier or Make

1. Connect the Krokul app with an API key.
2. Use the Messenger trigger New Message Sent to Page with Krokul actions such as Create Contact, Create Deal or Add Activity.
3. For outgoing notes, start from a Krokul trigger such as Deal Stage Changed and run Send Message From Page.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Create a Krokul API key whose scopes cover contacts, deals and activities.
2. In your receiver for Page webhooks, look up the sender with contact/api-find, create the contact and the deal with contact/api-create and card/api-create when the person is new, and keep the page-scoped ID with externalRef/api-upsert.
3. Write each incoming message to the deal through activity/api-create.
4. For replies, subscribe a Krokul webhook to card.statusChanged, check its x-crm-signature header and send the text through the Send API of your Page.

**Triggers:** New Message Sent to Page.

**Actions:** Send Message From Page.

### For integrators

A custom receiver for Messenger answers the verification GET with `hub.challenge` and checks `X-Hub-Signature-256` with the app secret. On the Krokul side it uses the public REST API with a key, stores the page-scoped ID as an external key of the contact and writes chat lines as activities of type `message`. Krokul webhooks are signed with HMAC-SHA256 and can be replayed from the delivery log.

## Questions and answers

### Does Krokul integrate with Facebook Messenger?

Yes. Krokul integrates with Facebook Messenger through the Krokul app in Zapier and Make, and through its API and webhooks.

### What do we need on the Facebook side?

A Facebook Page and a person with the right to manage its messages, who approves access for Krokul during sign-in.

### Why can a reply be refused after a day?

Meta allows a business to answer within 24 hours of the last message from the person. A human reply with the HUMAN_AGENT tag is allowed for up to 7 days. Krokul shows which of these applies to each thread.

### How does Krokul recognise the same person later?

By the page-scoped ID that Messenger gives each person for your Page. Krokul keeps it as an external key of the contact.

## Limits

Krokul handles conversations with your Page. Comments under posts, ads and the Page itself stay in Meta Business Suite. Meta lets a business reply within 24 hours of the last message from the person, or up to 7 days for a human reply marked with the HUMAN_AGENT tag.
