# DocuSign + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with DocuSign. The manager sends a Krokul contract for signature as a DocuSign envelope built on your template. When DocuSign reports the envelope as completed or declined, Krokul records the result on the deal and moves it to the right stage. The connection runs through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make and Albato, or through the Krokul API and webhooks.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make, Albato.

## What your team gets

### The contract goes out as a DocuSign envelope

On the contract stage, the manager opens the contract document of the deal and presses Send for signature. Krokul builds the envelope from the DocuSign template chosen for that document type, attaches the contract as a PDF, fills the signer role with the contact and the template fields with the deal values, and sends it. The envelope ID stays on the document.

### A completed envelope moves the deal

When every recipient has signed, DocuSign reports the envelope as completed. Krokul marks the contract as signed, adds a note to the deal feed with who signed and when, and moves the deal to the stage you set for signed contracts. Required fields of that stage are still checked.

### Each recipient appears on the deal

For a contract with two signers, a completed recipient event lands on the deal as soon as each person finishes. The manager sees that the client director has signed and the finance head has not, and calls the right person.

### A declined or voided envelope returns the deal

If a recipient declines, or someone voids the envelope in DocuSign, Krokul marks the contract as declined, moves the deal back to the stage you set and creates a task for the deal owner with the decline reason from DocuSign.

### The signed PDF is linked to the contract

After completion, Krokul fetches the signed document from DocuSign, saves it to the file storage connected to Krokul, such as Google Drive or Dropbox, and links it on the contract and the deal.

## What moves between DocuSign and Krokul

| DocuSign | Krokul | Direction | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Envelope from template (roles, fields, PDF) | Contract document of the deal and its contact | Krokul → DocuSign | The manager sends the contract for signature |
| Envelope sent | Contract status «sent» and the envelope ID | DocuSign → Krokul | Right after sending |
| Recipient completed | Note in the deal feed | DocuSign → Krokul | DocuSign Connect event `recipient-completed` |
| Envelope completed | Contract status «signed», next deal stage | DocuSign → Krokul | DocuSign Connect event `envelope-completed` |
| Envelope declined or voided | Contract status «declined», task and stage back | DocuSign → Krokul | A recipient declines or the sender voids |
| Combined signed document | File link on the contract and the deal | DocuSign → Krokul | After the envelope is completed |

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier, Make or Albato

1. Connect the Krokul app with a Krokul API key.
2. Use the Krokul trigger Deal Stage Changed with the DocuSign action Send Envelope Using Template.
3. Start the return path from Envelope Completed, Envelope Declined or Envelope Voided and use the Krokul action Change Deal Stage, Add Comment or Create Task.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Create a Krokul API key with scopes for deals, documents and tasks.
2. Subscribe to card.statusChanged through webhook/api-upsert with a statusUuid filter for the contract stage. Validate the x-crm-signature header of every delivery.
3. Read the contract with document/api-read, send the envelope from your DocuSign template, and save the envelope ID on the document with externalRef/api-upsert.
4. Add a DocuSign Connect configuration for your listener. On envelope-completed call card/api-updateStatus, and on a decline add a task with task/api-create.

**Triggers:** Envelope Sent; Envelope Completed; Envelope Declined; Envelope Voided; Recipient Completed; Envelope Status Updated.

**Actions:** Send Envelope Using Template; Send Envelope Using Document; Create Signature Request; Download Envelope Document; Void Envelope; Find Envelope Info.

### For integrators

DocuSign Connect posts envelope and recipient events, such as `envelope-completed` and `recipient-completed`, to a listener, and DocuSign advises a listener that accepts the message, queues it and processes it later. Connect configurations are separate in the developer and production environments. On the Krokul side, the public API moves deals with `card/api-updateStatus`, keeps the envelope ID as an external key, and signed webhooks report every stage change back to your systems.

## Questions and answers

### Does Krokul integrate with DocuSign?

Yes. Krokul integrates with DocuSign through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make and Albato, and through its API and webhooks.

### Does Krokul send its own contract or a DocuSign template?

Both together. The envelope uses your DocuSign template for roles and signing fields, and the Krokul contract is attached to it as a PDF with the deal values.

### Does the deal move by itself after signing?

Yes. A completed envelope moves the deal to the stage you chose for signed contracts. Krokul still checks the required fields of that stage and lists any that are missing.

### Where is the signed contract stored?

In DocuSign, and as a copy in the file storage connected to Krokul. The contract and the deal in Krokul hold the link to it.

## Limits

Signing, reminders to recipients and the certificate of completion stay in DocuSign. Krokul keeps the deal, the contract and a link to the signed copy.
