# Dialpad + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with Dialpad. Each Dialpad call is logged on the contact and the open deal with its duration, recording and AI recap, a missed call or voicemail opens a call-back task, and SMS conversations appear in the Krokul inbox with replies sent back through Dialpad. A click on a phone number in Krokul rings the Dialpad app of the manager. The link runs through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make or Albato, or through the Krokul API and webhooks.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make, Albato.

## What your team gets

### A finished call goes to the deal feed

Dialpad posts a call event with the state `hangup` when a conversation ends. Krokul finds the external party by phone and writes a call record with direction, Dialpad user and duration on the contact and its open deal. Later states of the same call add to that record. `recording` brings the player link, and `recap_summary` brings the Dialpad Ai summary. Nobody retypes the call notes.

### Missed calls and voicemails open a call-back task

The states `missed` and `voicemail_uploaded` mean a customer did not get through. Krokul creates a task for the owner of that contact, due the same day, with the voicemail link attached. Calls from unknown numbers go to the person you pick in the settings.

### SMS threads live next to the deal

An inbound Dialpad SMS event becomes a message in the Krokul inbox thread of that contact. A reply typed in Krokul goes out through the Dialpad SMS send endpoint from the number of the user. The client company feed shows both sides of the thread.

### Click to call and shared contacts

A manager clicks a number on the contact card, and Krokul asks Dialpad to initiate the call in the web or desktop app of that user. A Contact created in Krokul appears in Dialpad, and Dialpad contact events update Krokul, so agents see names on incoming calls.

## What moves between Dialpad and Krokul

| Dialpad | Krokul | Direction | When |
|---|---|---|---|
| Call event (`hangup`, `recording`) | Call record with player on the contact and the open deal | Dialpad → Krokul | The call ends; the recording is ready |
| Call event (`call_transcription`, `recap_summary`) | Transcript and summary on the call record | Dialpad → Krokul | Dialpad finishes processing |
| Call event (`missed`, `voicemail_uploaded`) | Call-back task for the contact owner | Dialpad → Krokul | A caller does not reach anyone |
| SMS event (inbound) | Message in the inbox thread | Dialpad → Krokul | A customer texts a Dialpad number |
| SMS send | Reply from the inbox thread | Krokul → Dialpad | A manager answers in Krokul |
| Initiate call | Phone number on the contact card | Krokul → Dialpad | The manager clicks the number |
| Contact | Contact | Krokul ↔ Dialpad | A contact is created or changed on either side |

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier, Make or Albato

1. Connect the Krokul app with a Krokul API key.
2. Start from the Dialpad trigger Call State Changed, filter on the hangup state and add the Krokul actions Find Contact and Add Activity.
3. Use SMS Created with the Krokul action Add Activity, so text threads reach the contact feed.
4. Pair the Krokul trigger Contact Created with Create and Optionally Assign Contact in Dialpad.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Issue a Krokul API key with scopes for contacts, activities and tasks. In Dialpad, create a webhook and a call event subscription for hangup, missed, voicemail_uploaded and recording.
2. Decode each Dialpad payload, look up the external party with contact/api-find by phone and add the call through activity/api-create.
3. For missed calls and voicemails, open a task with task/api-create for the owner of the contact.
4. Subscribe a Krokul webhook to contact.created, verify x-crm-signature with your secret and create the contact through the Dialpad contacts API.

**Triggers:** Call State Changed; SMS Created.

**Actions:** Create and Optionally Assign Contact in Dialpad; Send SMS; Initiate call via ring.

### For integrators

Dialpad delivers call and SMS events to a webhook you register through its API, JWT-encoded or as plain JSON. Initiate call is limited to 5 requests per minute. Krokul keeps the Dialpad call ID as an external key and accepts call records with `durationSec` and `recordingUrl` through its public API.

## Questions and answers

### Does Krokul integrate with Dialpad?

Yes. Krokul integrates with Dialpad through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make and Albato, and through its API and webhooks. Calls, recordings, recaps and SMS land on the contact and the deal.

### Which Dialpad event logs the call?

The call event with the state hangup logs the call. Recording, transcript and recap arrive in later events of the same call, and Krokul adds them to one record.

### Does click to call work on the Dialpad mobile app?

No. Dialpad documents that its initiate call endpoint needs the web or desktop app, or a CTI app. The mobile apps and desk phones do not take the request.

### Why is the SMS text empty in Krokul?

Dialpad includes message content only for keys and OAuth apps with the message_content_export scope. Grant that scope, and the text arrives with the event.

## Limits

Dialpad remains the phone system. Numbers, routing, call centers and Dialpad Ai live there. SMS text reaches Krokul only when the Dialpad key or OAuth app holds the `message_content_export` scope, because Dialpad leaves message content out by default.
