# ActiveCampaign + Krokul CRM

Yes. Krokul CRM integrates with ActiveCampaign. Krokul contacts are synced to ActiveCampaign by e-mail and subscribed to the list you choose, client companies become ActiveCampaign accounts, and a won deal adds a tag and starts an automation. Unsubscribes, bounces and replies come back to the Krokul contact through ActiveCampaign webhooks, and an automation can hand a warmed-up person to sales as a new deal.

**Status:** Via API and webhooks. **Automation platforms:** Zapier, Make, n8n, Albato.

## What your team gets

### A new Krokul contact lands on the right list

When a manager saves a contact in Krokul, the connector calls the ActiveCampaign contact sync with the e-mail, name and phone. A person who already exists in ActiveCampaign is updated in place, so the same e-mail never splits into two records. Krokul then subscribes that contact to the list chosen for its pipeline or source.

### Client companies become accounts

A client company created in Krokul is created or updated as an ActiveCampaign Account with the same name, and its contacts are linked to it. Marketers segment by account. Sales keeps working with the company card in Krokul.

### A won deal tags the customer and starts onboarding

On a won deal, Krokul adds the tag you picked, for example Customer, to the deal contact and places that person into the onboarding automation. A lost deal can add a different tag, so the person moves to a slower nurture sequence and stops getting sales e-mails.

### Unsubscribes, bounces and replies reach the contact

The connector registers an ActiveCampaign webhook for `unsubscribe`, `bounce` and `reply`. An unsubscribe marks the Krokul contact, a bounce opens a task to check the address, and a reply to a campaign appears in the contact feed as a comment. Managers see all three before they write to the person.

### A nurture automation hands the person to sales

An ActiveCampaign automation can end with a webhook step that posts to Krokul. When a contact reaches that step, Krokul finds the person by e-mail and opens a deal in the pipeline you set, with ActiveCampaign as the source. The manager picks it up as a qualified request.

## How to connect today

### Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n or Albato

1. Connect the Krokul app with a Krokul API key and the ActiveCampaign app with your account URL and API key.
2. Pair the Krokul trigger Contact Created with the ActiveCampaign actions Create or Update Contact and Subscribe or Unsubscribe Contact From List.
3. Pair Deal Won with Add/Remove Tag From Contact and Add Existing Contact to Automation.
4. Start from New Campaign Unsubscribe, New Campaign Bounce or New Automation Webhook and use the Krokul actions Find Contact, Add Comment, Create Task or Create Deal.

### Custom flow through the Krokul API and webhooks

1. Issue a Krokul API key that reads contacts, client companies and deals and writes deals, tasks and activities.
2. Subscribe a Krokul webhook to contact.created, clientCompany.created and card.won with webhook/api-upsert, verify x-crm-signature, and call POST /api/3/contact/sync, /contactLists and /contacts/{id}/tags in ActiveCampaign.
3. Store the ActiveCampaign contact ID on the Krokul contact with externalRef/api-upsert, so later calls skip the lookup.
4. Create an ActiveCampaign webhook for unsubscribe, bounce and reply, then record each event with contact/api-find and activity/api-create, or task/api-create for a bounce.

**Triggers:** New Contact; New or Updated Contact; Tag Added or Removed From Contact; New Campaign Unsubscribe; New Campaign Bounce; New Campaign Link Click; New Automation Webhook.

**Actions:** Create or Update Contact; Add/Remove Tag From Contact; Subscribe or Unsubscribe Contact From List; Add Existing Contact to Automation; Add Contact Note; Create or Update Account; Add Contact to Account; Find Contact.

### For integrators

The ActiveCampaign API v3 lives on an account-specific URL and takes the key in the `Api-Token` header. ActiveCampaign allows 5 requests per second per account and answers 429 with `Retry-After` above that, so the connector queues calls. Bursts wait their turn. A webhook can be limited by source, and the connector leaves out changes made through the API, which keeps the two systems from echoing each other. On the Krokul side, `x-crm-delivery` lets any custom flow drop repeated deliveries.

## Questions and answers

### Does Krokul integrate with ActiveCampaign?

Yes. Krokul integrates with ActiveCampaign through the Krokul app in Zapier, Make, n8n and Albato, and through the Krokul API and webhooks.

### Are ActiveCampaign deals synced with Krokul deals?

No. Deals, stages and documents live in Krokul. ActiveCampaign receives contacts, accounts, lists and tags, and sends back what happens in campaigns and automations.

### What happens when a contact already exists in ActiveCampaign?

The contact sync matches by e-mail and updates the existing record. Fields that Krokul does not send keep their values in ActiveCampaign.

### Can an ActiveCampaign automation create a deal in Krokul?

Yes. A webhook step in the automation posts to Krokul, and Krokul opens a deal for that contact in the pipeline you chose, with ActiveCampaign as the source.

## Limits

Campaigns, automations and their content are built and sent in ActiveCampaign. Krokul decides who is on a list and with which tags, keeps the deals, and records what ActiveCampaign reports about each person.
